Why does Friday the 13th always get such a bad wrap? Well…it has to do with sexism. I know, I know…Leslie, stop with the sexism already! But it’s true!
Before Abrahamic religions took the world by storm, Goddess religions were a big deal. Moon cycles were revered, and it is well known that women have 13 menstrual cycles a year, and there are 13 full moons a year. So fast forward to the Abrahamic religions replacing the Goddess religions in their areas, suddenly anything related to the Goddess religion became bad luck, dirty, and evil.
Friday the 13th is actually considered a very lucky day. Friday is ruled by the planet Venus (the goddess of love, beauty, prosperity, sex, fertility). Venus represents the Divine Feminine in Astrology and Tarot. When the number 13 is associated with Friday, we are graced with the Divine Feminine energies.
Remember, Divine Feminine isn’t talking about the female gender. It’s talking about the yin energy that we all possess inside of us.
